1. Overview
The RootGuardPageDemo.cpp file is a minimal standalone GTKmm harness for embedding and visually testing RootGuardPage outside the full BastionGuard application.
The file integrates the following components, APIs, or runtime concepts:
- RootGuardPage.hpp – the page under test
- Gtk::Application – standalone GTK application lifecycle
- Gtk::Window – demo container for the page
2. Demo Window
DemoWindow derives from Gtk::Window, sets the title to “BastionGuard RootGuard”, uses a default size of 1000×680, and installs one RootGuardPage as its child.
3. Application Entry Point
main() creates a GTK application with application ID eu.bastionguard.rootguard.demo and runs DemoWindow through make_window_and_run().
4. Purpose
The file contains no mock backend. Therefore, when run on a real system, the embedded page still exercises the normal RootGuard client paths, service status, logs, and privileged action requests.
5. Runtime and Security Considerations
- Integration smoke test: useful for layout and signal behavior without launching the entire BastionGuard UI.
- Production dependencies remain active: the demo does not sandbox or replace RootGuard helper interactions.
